Wix has never been a platform that agency owners or SEOs recommended. It was the DIY website builder for small businesses.
SEOs brought up glaring issues such as the entire site structure being built with Javascript, the inability to issue 301 redirects, edit robots.txt, and the lack of simple integrations to necessary tools like Google Analytics, Search Console, and Facebook Pixel.
Since then, Wix has had a bad reputation with agencies. However, it’s clear the Wix of today is not the same Wix of 2015.
In this episode, we talk to Kobi Gamliel, the Head of Agency Growth at Wix Studio on why he’s confident Wix Studio is going to take over the agency space and become a preferred platform by agencies.
Kobi isn’t just all talk. He also founded and owned two digital marketing agencies prior to joining Wix in 2014 which we dive into and learn more granular details about.
Wix Studio is a new platform for Wix built specifically for agencies who manage multiple client sites. For lack of better phrasing, we’re quite blown away with the platform’s new capabilities and integrations. WordPress should be afraid.
And don’t worry, we make sure to press Kobi on the bad SEO claims Wix has gotten in the past and why people are still repeating things initially stated a decade ago before we get into the Wix Studio platform.

Even though I’ve seen Wix Studio ads a hundred times, I had no idea it was built with agencies in mind. Like most people, I’ve not taken Wix seriously, but I also haven’t looked at it in a few years, and have not seen Studio.
As the cookie crumbles, a future proof solution to handle server-side attribution and pii has my attention. What Kobi said about considering which option is going to provide the best result really resonated with me. With the ever-changing landscape, digital marketers needs to combat the “because we’ve always done it this way” mentality. That includes WordPress.
This episode has definitely put Wix Studio on the list of new things to try.
You and I were in the same boat. Saw just swarms of Wix Studio ads but thought it was just a new iteration of EditorX from 2020. I think the mental hurdle of using Wix as a solution to agency clients has been jumped. But there is still that hurdle of being judged by other agency owners for using Wix. Not that their opinions matter — but the narrative definitely needs to change.
Been listening to Jake and Cody for a while now just sitting on my hands waiting to be a big boy and actually start this agency thing. A lot of my concerns seem to lean in where Wix can take over and help me along my way. If Cody would plan to try it starting out, it’ll definitely be the right step for me.
I’ve always wanted to use Wix as my main CMS and web builder. This honestly gave me a lot more confidence in the platform as an agency owner.
It was comforting to hear Kobi be so forthcoming with the changes wix has made. Also amazing to hear all the integrations wix has.
Going to start testing out wix studio to see the changes for myself
Over the years I knew Wix had come a long ways in terms of SEO. My biggest hesitation with using it was the integrations part of it. However, it seems like with over 900 of them and with the plugin security issues Wix has been having since it’s an open source platform, makes me feel like that’s a safer option for agency CMS’ — especially with ewer agencies.
